The people you surround yourself with should serve a purpose beyond just comfort and enjoyment.
Those you allow into your life play a pivotal role in your growth, momentum, and development.
I’ve come to realize that the individuals in my circle are like staff in an organization. The Lord has made each person bring their unique skills, helping to drive a common goal forward—challenging blind spots while holding one another accountable and fostering a cycle of mutual growth.
I like to look at how Jesus staffed His life with the disciples.
He was extremely intentional and methodical.
Peter — Visionary leader / foundation of the church
James — Passionate advocate / ensures the mission moves forward
John — Trusted advisor / strategic insight and direction
Andrew — Networker / expands relationships and reach
Philip — Practical problem solver / operations manager
Matthew — Accountant / financial management
Thomas — Skeptic / authentic truth tester
Simon — Revolutionary / change agent
Judas — Cautionary role / reminder of integrity and motives
Jesus was intentional about those around Him, recognizing their influence on His mission.
As Jesus poured, He also had those around Him who could help His purpose come to pass.
Similarly, we should be intentional about the people we allow into our lives.
Are the people in your circle helping you grow toward all that God has for you?
Do they recognize who you are in Christ and are they aware of who they are in Him?
Take a moment to reflect.
Who is staffing your life?
The answers to these questions can transform your future.
xoxo Maya
